The North American Dental Autoclaves Market is Expected to Grow Another 5% by 2022

dental autoclavesThe North American market for dental autoclaves is anticipated to be the leading force in the industry from 2016 to 2022. So much so that the market is expected to reach $76.3 million by 2022. According to Mobile Computing Today, North America alone is expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.5% between 2016 and 2022.

You may be wondering what the reasoning behind the high anticipated growth rate. The answer is an increase in demand for dental prosthetics. Almost three-quarters of Americans share the belief that an unattractive smile can negatively affect their careers. Nowhere on earth is it more important to have a perfect smile than in Hollywood.

Celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry, to name a few, have updated their smiles since beginning their careers. They have achieved these looks using dental veneers. Veneers are custom-made shells of porcelain that fit over teeth to improve their appearance. Considering that 96% of adults think a great smile is more likely to attract a love interest, veneers create the perfect custom-fitted smile.

However, a lot of work goes into creating those smiles. Both the process and dental digital imaging equipment needed to perform veneer installation are complicated and costly. The process involves several stages, including:

  • Preliminary: The first visit with your dentist will consist of the use of dental x-ray equipment to get a proper digital image of your teeth in their current state.

  • Preparation: Once your images are ready, the dentist will then trim half a millimeter of enamel to prepare the teeth for veneers. Next, a mold of your teeth is taken and sent to a lab to custom make the veneers. The process takes up to two weeks.

  • Placement: Upon your next visit, after confirming the right fit and color, the dentist cleans and attaches the veneers using a custom cement followed by ultraviolet light to quickly harden. Dental autoclaves may be used to get rid of any excess materials before finishing.

  • Preservation: A follow-up appointment is typically set for a few weeks after the installation to make sure all is well.
Between the use of dental autoclaves, dental chairs, and other equipment used in the process of installing veneers, it is no wonder why the market for dental equipment is doing so well. Although the cost may be steep for some, most adults over the age of 50 agree that a smile is the one attractive feature that rarely fades.

So consider the benefits of veneers, because your perfect smile is closer than you think.
