Don Heyen - House of Hope

Don Heyen, DDS and DuraPro Health partner to benefit House of Hope in Wichita Falls
In the summer of 2014, Don Heyen, DDS began seeing residents at the House of Hope in Wichita Falls, TX in addition to his regular practice. Dr. Heyen had seen how long-term care patients needed regular dental care in dealing with his own family. His mother had been in long term care for 9 years in Kansas dealing with Parkinson’s Disease. After she had passed, Dr. Heyen’s aunt was admitted to the House of Hope in Wichita Falls. The House of Hope offers services for those dealing with dementia. The opportunity to offer dental services was presented to the staff there and they were very favorable towards the idea. A small unused clinic room was cleaned out and DuraPro Health generously donated a refurbished dental chair to the new dental treatment room. Since then, Dr. Heyen sees the residents there and offers preventive care, teeth cleanings, fillings and denture repairs one day each month. “The families are very appreciative and it has been a great partnership between the House of Hope, DuraPro Health and our dental clinic,” said Dr. Heyen.
